Our first exclusive free digital release is Gaven Richard’s new project, Salon Style. Some folks will recognize Gaven’s trademark songwriting style within these new recordings, yet this is quite a 180 degree turn from his previous output. Here’s what Gaven had to say about Salon Style:

My name is Gaven Richard and I perform and record under the name Salon Style. The music is sample based – loops are pulled from a broad range of genres then left alone, exposed, repeating themselves in a state of shock. The austerity of the music cedes focus to the singing, a generally plaintive keen with a wry undertone. Lyrics are mini-narratives that meld country’s obsession with quotidian detail and metal’s macabre fantasies.

Salon Style will be appearing this Friday night (3/13) at the dual CD release show for Sgt. Dunbar & the Hobo Banned and The Red Lions at Valentine’s in Albany, NY. Show starts at 8pm and also features We Are Jeneric.
